"VENOM: LETHAL PROTECTOR" - 3D Marvel Animation

Venom is one of my all-time favorite Marvel characters and villains, so I decided to give life to this very brief shot of the Lethal Protector jumping and roaring towards the audience. Feel free to explore the different stages of my latest work!

I've been looking for a good Venom rig to animate for months, and now I've finally found this awesome Marvel Rivals one by AmazingAnimation, so I couldn't resist.

I assembled a sequence of shots that could create a coherent visual continuity, spanning from "Hulk" (2003) to the latest Venom from Insomniac's "Spider-Man 2", which I integrated with a personal ref aimed at binding the landing and the power-up roar.

Here you can see the side-by-side comparison of the final animation with its reference base, which is always a fundamental starting point to layout a good work.

Arcs are everything, especially during jumps and organic movements. Maya's motion trail tool allowed me to calculate and polish Venom's body trajectory in the air, from the initial jump to the landing pose.

I simpy love working with the straight ahead approach, at least for action and dynamic scenes like this one. It allows me to capture the right timing and spacing better and to progressively layer the animation afterwards, once the arcs are good enough.
